Brussels-Luxembourg-Athens, December 5, 2022 – Uni Systems (lead partner), a member of Quest Group of Companies, in consortium with NRB (partner), announces a six-year contract, with a maximum value of EUR 9 million, for the development, maintenance and support of the Information Systems of the EU Emission Trading Scheme operated by the European Commission, Directorate General for Climate Action (DG-CLIMA).
The EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) is the cornerstone of the EU's policy to combat climate change and a key tool to the cost-effective reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, in the world's first and largest carbon market.
This Framework contract covers services related to the Union Registry (UR), the European Union Transaction Log (EUTL), which monitors and records all transactions taking place within the trading system, including the EUTL Public website.
Uni Systems’ consortium with NRB will provide services that include the maintenance and support as well as the continuous development of the EU ETS systems ensuring their smooth and user-friendly functioning. Other activities include the technical / business analysis and studies, management of the EU ETS specification and the life-cycle implementation for new functionalities/modules, as required by legislation, embedding security-by-design within existing and newly developed functionalities with state-of-the-art security features, as used in the financial sector.
