BRUSSELS, 7 September 2026 - Korean and European researchers preparing Horizon Europe 2027 proposals are invited to meet potential consortium partners at the Korea–EU Horizon Europe Researchers Consulting Forum on Cluster 4, taking place on 15–16 September at Thon Hotel EU in Brussels.
The two-day, in-person forum will bring together Korean and European researchers interested in joint applications under Cluster 4: Digital, Industry and Space. It is co-organised by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) and the Korea–EU Research Centre (KERC).
The programme combines researcher pitches, matchmaking discussions and expert consulting. Participants will share their expertise and project ideas, explore complementary capabilities and discuss consortium composition and proposal directions with potential partners from Korea and Europe. Discussions will focus on selected 2027 call topics , including advanced materials, AI-driven robotics, photonics and technologies for virtual worlds:
- HORIZON-CL4-2027-01-MAT-PROD-06: Circular innovative advanced materials: facilitating the transition from design to markets (RIA) (Innovative Advanced Materials for the EU and Made in Europe partnerships)
- HORIZON-CL4-2027-04-DIGITAL-EMERGING-05: Apply AI: AI-Driven Robotics for Industry: Enabling System Integration and Adoption (IA) (Partnership in AI, Data and Robotics)
- HORIZON-CL4-2027-01-MAT-PROD-22: Innovative advanced materials and new production processes – reducing dependencies on Critical and Strategic Raw Materials (IA) (Innovative Advanced Materials for the EU and Processes4Planet partnerships)
- HORIZON-CL4-2027-04-HUMAN-01: Advanced and Innovative hardware components for Virtual Worlds (RIA) (Virtual Worlds Partnership)
- HORIZON-CL4-2027-05-DIGITAL-EMERGING-03: Advanced integrated photonic devices for extended features and ultra-low power consumption (RIA)
- HORIZON-CL4-2027-02-DIGITAL-EMERGING-52-two-stage: New approaches for Human/AI collaboration for the workforce of the future (RIA) (Made in Europe and AI, Data and Robotics partnerships)
- HORIZON-CL4-2027-04-DIGITAL-EMERGING-11: EU Frontier AI Initiative: Developing frontier AI solutions that are safe and computationally efficient within Apply AI (RIA)
- HORIZON-CL4-2027-04-DIGITAL-EMERGING-10: Horizon scanning and foresight in future enabling digital technologies (CSA)
Researchers can explore complementary expertise and discuss how their contributions could fit into a joint proposal, with expert guidance on consortium competitiveness and proposal quality.
The invitation is open to Korean and European researchers interested in the forum’s target calls, including those working in universities, research organisations and industry. Participation is free, but places are limited. Interested researchers are encouraged to review the programme and register in advance.
