The one6G, a non-profit association created to facilitate an early and easily accessible open dialogue on functional gaps and new requirements beyond 5G, up to 6G, announced the agenda details for one6G Summit 2021.
Scheduled for November 10, 2021, the first edition of the one6G Summit aims at establishing a platform that will address the latest 6G progress by presenting valuable viewpoints of policymakers and top experts from industry and academia. The event is open to anyone involved or interested in learning more about the state of 6G research and vision. To accommodate a global audience, one6G Summit will take place in two blocks: morning and afternoon, allowing people from different time zones to participate. The full-day event will include eight interactive sessions and an expert panel discussion, moderated by Rahim Tafazolli, covering the global 6G vision and key values. Additionally, to drive the speakers‘ and attendees‘ engagement, one6G will leverage a range of interactive features, including live Q&A, chat, and polling functionality.
one6G also announced that the opening speech will be delivered by Nancy Alonistioti from the National Kapodistrian University of Athens who, in a preview of her talk, said, “The first edition of the one6G Summit is of great importance to our association. By gathering relevant policymakers and top experts from industry and academia, we intend to establish the Summit as a go-to platform for the drivers of 6G evolution and the tenets that define the vision for cross-industry co-creation of 6G."
More than 300 participants from around the world will gather for the first edition of one6G Summit. The event, moderated by Monique Calisti, the CEO of Martel Innovate, will kick-off at 9:45 am CET and will be divided into two blocks separated by a 45 min. lunch break. The morning sessions will range from international 6G activities and the global organizations' view on 6G to 6G vision and values. The second block will begin at 1:45 pm with four hours of content delivered by distinguished speakers from industry and academia. Topics will include 6G demos, the vertical industries' and academics’ view on 6G, 6G public network services, and one6G working groups’ activities. Among the speakers are Bernard Barani, Deputy Head of Unit, DG CNECT – Future Connectivity Systems at the European Commission; Andreas Müller, Chairman of the Board of the 5G Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation (5G-ACIA) and Head of Communication and Network Technology at Bosch Research in Stuttgart, Germany; and Marius Spika, Head of Digital Architecture Concepts at Volkswagen. The founders of the one6G Association launched the Summit as an annual opportunity to bring together the extended 6G community to discuss the evolution and development towards 6G networks of 2030 and the global impact of advancing mobile technologies. This year, one6G will embrace the virtual nature of the event to reach a large global audience and host meaningful conversations about technologies, such as AI, IoT, symbiotic share of resources by mobile/wireless/satellite coms, cloud computing, time-sensitive networking, etc., which will play key roles in developing the fundamentals of 6G.
