After a successful run, during which the partners participated in a variety of activities - and promoted the results obtained around Europe - the mission of EU-funded project Affordable5G to deliver a complete, disaggregated, and affordable solution covering the needs of private and enterprise 5G networks, is nearing its end. Before lasts results and plans for the future of the developed innovations are disclosed, catch up with the project’s entire history in the news section of our website.
You can also catch up with our partners in real life, at the 24th InfoCom World Conference, which will take place in Athens, Greece, between the 29th and the 30th of November. There, Affordable5G partner 8Bells will hold the very last presentation of the project during the event’s Science Session’s research-oriented workshop, entitled “Research Projects for creating the Future and Innovative Telecoms Market”. Affordable5G will take the stage in Session 5 of the workshop, which is designed to refer to innovative challenges for 5G core technologies and Connected Automated Mobility (CAM), in a landscape in which the large-scale rollout of 5G networks is becoming a reality, with big vendors deploying 5G network equipment and Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) being on the verge of its commercialization. The key consideration the session envisions to follow is the fact that in parallel to the deployment of such 5G high-performing network, there is an unprecedented urge to support solutions tailored to specific types of networks, capable of offering ubiquitous coverage with high data rate availability, densification, and high capillarity of access points to enhance 5G system capacity – a challenge that is certainly at the heart of Affordable5G.
Session 5 will be taking place between 2 and 3pm EET on 29th November.
