Digital for Planet (D4P) and the Big Data Value Association (BDVA/DAIRO) signed today in Prague, in the context of the European Big Data Value Forum (EBDVF 2022), a memorandum of understanding outlining the collaboration activities. The two organisations have agreed to cooperate in addressing the complex challenges associated with sustainable and digital transformation in the Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) domains.
The collaboration between Digital for Planet and the Big Data Value Association is a significant step forward for both organisations, which are committed to fostering the development and deployment of open, inclusive, and sustainable digital technologies and solutions to empower individuals and organisations in addressing the world's major climate emergency and environmental challenges.
Dr Monique Calisti, Founder and President of the Digital for Planet non-profit organisation, said: “We are running out of time to save our planet. Now, more than ever, it is crucial that ICT communities and relevant stakeholders come together to bridge the gap between digital transformation and sustainability. Therefore, Digital for Planet and BDVA/DAIRO are joining forces to help our society and economy move forward in a sustainable way”.
About the Partnership
BDVA/DAIRO brings its community and expertise to this partnership, particularly in the areas of big data and AI technologies and services and will participate in Digital for Planet activities and working groups. Digital for Planet will help raise awareness about green digital initiatives, policies, and funding opportunities throughout the BDVA/DAIRO ecosystem. Both organisations will actively support each other and their members to ensure our society and economy undergo a green digital transformation.
This partnership aligns with both the European Green Deal objectives and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The Big Data Value Association (BDVA/DAIRO) is an industry-driven non-profit organisation that advances Big Data and AI technologies and services, data platforms and data spaces, Industrial AI, data-driven value creation, standardisation and skills to enable the digital transformation of the economy and society. BDVA/DAIRO gathers more than 230 members all over Europe and is part of major European initiatives such as the Big Data Value cPPP, the EuroHPC JU, as well as founding member of the AI, Data and Robotics Partnership (ADRA).
