The Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) project 6G4Society hosts its final event on building a sustainable, inclusive vision for the 6G future.
With close to two years of work completed, the 6G4Society project is ready to present its conclusions.
Europe is entering a decisive phase in preparing for the next generation of connectivity. As 6G research accelerates across the European landscape, the question is no longer whether the technology will arrive, but how it will serve people, communities, and the planet.
On 15 December 2025, the 6G4Society Final Event will bring together leading researchers, policymakers, industry actors, and civil society voices for a half-day online programme exploring how Europe can ensure that future networks deliver on social sustainability and public value.
Under the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) umbrella, 6G4Society has worked at the heart of the 6G ecosystem to integrate social, environmental, and economic priorities into next-generation network design. For nearly two years, the project has contributed to important working groups from SNS JU and 6G Industry Association, collaborated with research projects across Europe, and engaged diverse communities to better understand how societal expectations should influence 6G innovation.

What to expect at the event
- Designed for researchers, policymakers, industry experts, and anyone shaping Europe’s digital future, the event will spotlight key project results and open a wider discussion on socially grounded 6G development. Highlights include: Unveiling of 6G4Society’s core tools and methodologies, including the Social Acceptance of Technology (SAT) framework, the Key Value Indicators (KVI)/Key Societal Indicators (KSI) Framework, and the KVI Ontology
- Presenting the results of a European-wide Citizens Questionnaire, which gathers the public’s perception of the technology
- Interdisciplinary panels and expert exchanges on the role of social sciences, ethics, and citizen perspectives in defining meaningful 6G use cases.
- Strategic recommendations to guide SNS JU, policymakers, and the research community toward inclusive and responsible innovation pathways.
