Press Release
26 January 2026
The 2nd EU-Japan Digital Week will take place in Tokyo from 23 to 30 March 2026, organised as part of the EU-Japan Digital Partnership. This flagship annual event brings together leaders from government, industry, academia, research, and policymaking across the European Union, Japan, and the wider Indo-Pacific region to advance digital collaboration.
Since its launch in 2022, the EU-Japan Digital Partnership has provided a flexible cooperation instrument that goes beyond dialogue and exchange of information between Japan and the EU with the view to deliver concrete deliverables in line with respective priorities for a digital economy and society.
This edition will explore a broad spectrum of topics shaping the future of the digital economy, including emerging and disruptive technologies such as AI, semiconductors, quantum computing, and high-performance computing, while addressing critical challenges in digital infrastructure, standardisation, and cross-border interoperability. Special emphasis will be placed on AI for societal good, trusted data spaces, cybersecurity, and the role of digital diplomacy in shaping international tech governance.
Participants will engage through a combination of thematic workshops, high-level dialogues, hands-on training sessions, hackathons, and stakeholder roundtables, exploring opportunities for joint research, innovation, and policy alignment. The event aims to strengthen the EU-Japan Digital Partnership’s impact in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond, fostering secure, resilient, and human-centric digital future.
